Making the decision to say goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest choices any owner will have to face.

We are here to help you make the decision that feels right for your pet and your family and to ensure your pet’s final moments are peaceful and dignified.

What to Expect

Euthanasia is a peaceful and painless procedure.

We will help make sure your pet is comfortable and relaxed. An injection is then given, and they will drift off to sleep calmly. You are welcome to stay with them, or step away if that feels right, there is no pressure either way.

We allow time and space for you to say goodbye without feeling rushed. Many families choose to come to the practice to say goodbye where we will do everything we can to make the experience as peaceful as possible. We also offer home euthanasia visits within 15 miles of the practice, depending on diary availability. If you are considering this option, please call us as early as you can so we can plan availability. Our home visit fee ranges from £110 to £200 depending on distance.

Aftercare

If you would like, we can provide ink paw prints, nose prints and small hair keepsakes at no additional cost.

You are welcome to take your pet home for burial, or make arrangements with a crematorium of your choice. Alternatively, we can organise cremation on your behalf directly from the practice.

We work with PCS Northampton, a trusted and respectful cremation service. If you would prefer to attend your pet’s cremation, this can also be arranged. You can read more about our crematorium and see photos of their gardens and farewell rooms here.
